In the event of transmission solenoid failure, the communication may fail between the transmission electronic control unit (ECU) and the engine ECU, resulting in transmission damage.","consequence":"A damaged transmission can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a damaged transmission can leak transmission fluid, increasing the risk of a fire.","remedy":"Dealers will update the transmission ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 13, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
