Under certain operating conditions, over time the weld between the column pillar and the main plate may fatigue and crack.","consequence":"A cracked weld may result in the collapse of the crane column when in use, increasing the risk of injury to the operator or others nearby.","remedy":"Hiab will inspect crane operating data and replace the columns as necessary, free of charge. For cranes that are inspected but do not require a replacement, Hiab will regularly monitor the column and replace as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2026.
